A Christian child advocacy ministry, Compassion International, has been caring for children around the world since 1952. Compassion International is determined to be Christ centered, child focused, and church based. The organization’s long-term care approach relies on child sponsorship as its foundation.
To provide for children suffering from poverty, Compassion International works to pair compassionate people with children in need. For less than $40 per month, a sponsor invests directly in the life of a child.
Donated funds are used to support church-based development centers that provide kids with Christian training, educational programming, health services, nutritional supplements, recreational activities, and training in basic life skills.
Sponsored children have been shown to experience more success later in life. They are more likely to stay in school and eventually graduate, and they are more likely to obtain well-paying jobs. In addition, they often function as respected leaders in their churches and communities.
